Happy New Year!…….. and……breathe!

January

Welcome to my latest online newsletter.

This month represents a year since I started my monthly newsletter and what a year it has been, with so many additional venues and new collaborations with other likeminded musicians. 2018 promises to be just as exciting and I am really looking forward to the coming months. First however, I shall be taking a short break in order to catch my breath after a very busy Christmas schedule that saw me perform at some of Cornwall’s top hotels.

During Christmas week I was thrilled to be able to play for the guests of The Budock Vean Hotel, The Headland Hotel, The Atlantic Hotel, The Nare Hotel, The Rose in Vale Hotel, Tregenna Castle Hotel and The Bedruthan Steps Hotel, and would like to thank everyone for making me so welcome. This month’s photograph was indeed taken on Christmas Eve at the beautiful Headland Hotel, where all were in a most festive mood.

I can now confirm that Sunday lunchtime jazz duo dates at The Headland Hotel are continuing every week until Easter providing another chance for you to hear Sarah and I at this beautiful venue.

The Budock Vean Hotel closes during early January whist the hotel undergoes its annual winter refurbishment, re-opening at the end of the month. I will of course, be returning then as part of the resident musician team. Details of all upcoming gigs are, as ever, placed on the Bookings page and this continues to be regularly updated with any last minute engagements.

I am also continuing to work on some new original new material that will hopefully be ready by early summer. This will be a collaboration with jazz singer and author Lucy ODay,. The early signs are pointing towards some lovely new music that will hopefully appeal to many across the age ranges. I will of course keep you posted as things develop and let everyone know when they are going to be premiered and available to download.

That is about all the news for now.

With best wishes for 2018 and I hope to see you at a future gig.

Thanks for your support … as ever.

Simon
