Winter Workout

February

Welcome to my latest online newsletter.

As January is traditionally a quiet time for musicians, I have taken the opportunity to prepare for an exciting New Year schedule. This month’s photo is one of a number from a recent shoot with Craig Taylor-Broad,. Along with a number of solo shots, Craig also produced some photos to accompany the new work Lucy O’Day and I are currently preparing. Click this link to hear a short excerpt of The Colour In Grey a song developed from my Bonemimori composition on Cornish Preludes Book 1. We are continuing to work on plenty of other new material too and this will be premiered later in the year, more details to follow.

Further highlights of the next few months include a return visit to The Falcon Hotel, Bude, where I will be guesting with Richard Leach 7 stars of Jazz, on 24th March. A lovely venue full of knowledgeable and appreciative people.

Two more Gin and Jazz evenings with Kimberly Oram on vocals, including one at The Penventon Park Hotel in Redruth, are also in the diary for the coming weeks.

I am thrilled that due to its popularity, the Sunday lunchtime jazz dates at The Headland Hotel have now been extended until the end of April providing further chances for you to hear Sarah and I at this beautiful hotel. As Sarah has been poorly during January and I am extremely grateful to my old friend Paul Haywood for stepping in at the last minute to cover for her. My residency at The Budock Vean has also now resumed with regular solo slots on both Tuesday and Saturday evenings.

Further details of any gigs are as usual, posted on the Bookings page and this continues to be regularly updated with any last minute additions.

That is about all the news for now.

I hope to see you at a future gig.

Thanks for your support … as ever.

Simon
