Autumn Leaves

Welcome to my latest online newsletter.

With the evenings drawing in and the barbeque season well and truly at an end, I have been undertaking a new venture performing to dementia sufferers at a number of care homes throughout Cornwall. The young people connected with NCS were a pleasure to work with in a recent project at Crossroads Care Home Scorrier. I am sure the efforts of these young people were greatly appreciated by staff and residents alike. It was particularly moving to see the pleasure that music and song can bring to those unfortunate enough to suffer from this condition.

The Gin and Jazz evenings at The Penventon Park Hotel in Redruth with Kimberly on vocals continue to be successful. You can also catch us at Looe Music Festival on 30th September at The Harbour Moon so if you are in the area it would be great to see you.

Sunday lunchtime jazz dates at The Headland Hotel Newquay, restart at the end of September and these will run every week until Christmas. My residency at The Budock Vean also continues as normal throughout the autumn months along with a few additional sessions, so keep an eye on the Bookings page as this is regularly updated with any last minute additions.

I have also recently taken a booking at a new venue in Cornwall and will be playing a solo set at The Beehive Tea Rooms in Bodmin on Saturday 9th December from 7.30.p.m. I am hoping that this may well lead to further engagements at this beautiful little venue, anyway more details on this a little nearer the time.

Finally, it is always a thrill to receive such positive feedback and I was delighted to receive this recommendation following a performance at a recent private event:

‘Simon played for us at a party to celebrate our 55th Wedding Anniversary. His choice of music was perfect for the occasion and his playing delightful. We shall certainly ask him to play again for any future celebration and recommend him highly.’

That is about all the news for now.

Hope to see you at a future gig.

Thanks for your support … as ever.

Simon
