Welcome to my latest online newsletter.
Well its been a while, but finally things appear to be moving again and there are signs that live music is gradually returning to venues across the country. This month’s photo was taken at The Minack Theatre, where I performed recently with the quartet. Following the success of our trio gig last year, it was great to be back at this unique theatre and exciting to perform some brand new original material of mine along with excellent new compositions from Sarah. The evening was very well received indeed and I was delighted with the lovely review written by Jenni Balow. You can read it here . Click on the link and scroll down to the tag that says review.
I am delighted to announce that from September we will be launching a brand new jazz evening and jam session at The Old Library Bodmin. It is hoped that if successful, this will become a regular event alternating with a similar session planned back at The Old Bakery Truro, when COVID restrictions are lifted. There will be further information about these events along with other jazz evenings that are currently being planned at The Old Bakery a little nearer the time.
August sees a couple of other events worth noting. The trio will be making a return visit to The Lostwithiel Jazz Cafe on 22nd and the following week I will be accompanying vocalist Kimberly Oram at Lewtrenchard Manor, Okehampton, as part of their summer jazz events programme.
A vastly reduced list of my future gigs can be viewed at Bookings page and I am hopeful that this will be updated with further engagements as the year unwinds.
That is about all the news for now.
I hope to see you at a future gig in the ‘new normal’.
Thanks for your support … as ever, keep safe.
Simon
