Truro…..A Jazz City!!

Welcome to my latest online newsletter.

So much to report from such an exciting month. I am delighted that following some email communication, the kind people at All About Jazz.Com have agreed to add Truro to the list of Jazz Cities on the ‘Jazz Near You’ app. If you download the app from here you will be able to view the posted jazz gigs that are available in Truro along with many other cities throughout the world. Local musicians are also welcome to register with All About Jazz.Com and post upcoming gigs. The more people (both musicians and fans) who are able to make use of this excellent opportunity the better, helping to put our city well and truly on the jazz map!

This month’s photo was taken at The Old Bakery where another huge turnout enjoyed a most entertaining and varied evening from Paul Haywood who joined Sam, Keith and I for the final Jazz Lounge of 2019. If you would like to hear more from Paul, including excerpts from the Bakery gig you can subscribe to his You Tube channel by clicking here . There are plenty more such events planned for the New Year and further details of these will appear soon. There is however, one other appearance of The Bakery Little Big Band in 2019 when on 20th December, we will be backing local singer Tom Cary who will be performing many tunes from his Michael Buble tribute show. An ideal event to get everyone into the Christmas spirit. Tickets for this are already selling fast and if you would like yours, they can be obtained here .

I will also be performing some festive solo jazz piano on Friday 6th December at Duchy Nurseries Lostwithiel, as part of their Late-Night Shopping and Suppers events held in the run up to Christmas.

Sunday lunchtime duo gigs at The Headland Hotel continue from 1-3pm up until 22nd December and as always, I remain resident at The Budock Vean Hotel making a number of appearances during the week. Be sure to check out all my gigs at the Bookings page as this continues to be regularly updated with any last minute engagements.

That is about all the news for now.

I hope to see you at a future gig.

Thanks for your support … as ever.

Simon
