Holidays are coming……….

December

Welcome to my latest online newsletter.

As the dark winter evenings are now here, I have had some time to concentrate on further new compositions. This month’s photo features the art work from our single due to be released in time for Christmas. The track, Colour in Grey will be available from 10th December and can be obtained as a digital download from Spotify. Based on my 2010 composition Bonemimori from Cornish Preludes Bk1, the piece has an additional section and includes some beautiful lyrics and melody added by Lucy. You can pre order a copy here, I am thrilled with feedback from those who have already heard this piece. We really gel as an ensemble and It certainly feels good to be back in the studio producing some original material again. We were made so very welcome by Gareth and his staff at Cube Studios and the professional atmosphere aided the creative process enormously, resulting in four quality tracks of which we are immensely proud. It was a thrill to be featured on BBC introducing recently and a track from the EP entitled ‘Honeymoon‘ was described as ‘gorgeous‘ by presenter Sarah Gosling. You can listen to the show here, we are featured about eight minutes into the programme.

Over The Christmas period, Sarah (on Sax) and I will be performing some seasonal duo gigs at The Eden Project St Austell. These will run on certain early evenings throughout December. Should you be visiting this wonderful Cornish landmark during the festive period, be sure to come and say ‘Hi’. The next Jazz Jam at The Old Bakery Studios will take place on 2nd December at 3pm, so if you would like to come and join in with us or simply listen, make a date in your diary. We are expecting another good crowd and am always looking to involve as many players as possible .

Throughout December I will also continue to play at a number of my regular venues although days and times will vary. As always further details along with any other last minute updated gigs are posted on the Bookings page

That is about all the news for now.

I hope to see you at a future gig.

Thanks for your support … as ever.

Simon
