New Ventures and New Venues

February

Welcome to my latest online newsletter.

This month’s photo is another from a recent shoot with Craig Taylor-Broad. This time it features Lucy O’Day, with whom I am currently preparing some brand new original material . Click this link to hear a short excerpt of Nebra Sky a song developed from my Nebra Sky Disc composition on Cornish Preludes Book II. We are continuing to work on plenty of other new material too and are thrilled that we have been given the opportunity to perform some of this brand new music next month at the Woodburner Sessions at Lusty Glaze, Newquay, on Friday 16th March. It would be great to see any of you there in such an idyllic and picturesque setting.

Another exciting new venue for my quartet coming soon is Lovedays in Charlestown. Where we will once again be performing as part of the St Austell Bay Jazz series of concerts. We will be playing a number of new original tunes and am hopeful that Lucy will be able to join us for a special guest appearance too.

March also includes a return visit for me to The Falcon Hotel, Bude, where I will be guesting with Richard Leach 7 stars of Jazz, on 24th. A lovely venue full of knowledgeable and appreciative people.

Another Gin and Jazz evening with Kimberly Oram on vocals, at The Penventon Park Hotel in Redruth, is also in the diary for March.

The Sunday lunchtime jazz dates at The Headland Hotel remain as popular as ever and have now been extended until the end of April providing further chances for you to hear Sarah and I at this beautiful hotel. My residency at The Budock Vean also continues with regular solo slots on both Tuesday and Saturday evening.

Further details of any gigs are as usual, posted on the Bookings page which continues to be regularly updated with any last minute additions.

That is about all the news for now.

I hope to see you at a future gig.

Thanks for your support … as ever.

Simon
