Radio Times

August

Welcome to my latest online newsletter.

I hope you are all continuing to enjoy the wonderful summer weather. This month’s photo was taken during a recent session with Simon Neild of The Source FM at Studio 35 . We were delighted with the live recording and interview we had with Simon. If you missed it you can listen again to the programme when Simon sat in for Tash Berks. We are featured during the last thirty minutes of the show.

Lucy and I will also be appearing on BBC Radio Cornwall talking with Debbie McCrory on Monday 6th of August. Simon Neild has very kindly agreed for us to use the recordings he made for us at the studio for this programme and we are most grateful to him for this. Amongst other things, we will undoubtedly be talking about our upcoming summer performance on 11th August at Penlee Park Theatre Penzance. This is fast approaching and promises to be a super event. Due to Keith’s unavailability, I am delighted that my son Tristan will be joining the band on drums for the evening. Tickets for the evening can be bought online at Penlee Park Tickets, I can now confrim that the ensemble will also be performing at The Burrell Theatre Truro School, on 5th October. It will be particularly exciting for me to return to the place where I spent thirty four years of my teaching career. I hope to see many old friends at what promises to be a special evening for me.

My work performing to the elderly and dementia sufferers also continues to grow and I am delighted to be able to add Cathedral View Care Home Truro, to the list of venues that have invited me to perform for their residents.

I am also very much looking forward to my first solo performance in Truro Cathedral on 18th September. This is part of a series of lunchtime concerts and gives me a rare opportunity to play on their beautiful new Steinway concert grand piano.

Our summer Wednesday evenings at The Headland Hotel continue to run until the end of August, so if you fancy some jazz whilst watching the spectacular sunsets over the Atlantic Ocean it would be lovely to see you. My residency at The Budock Vean Hotel also continues with regular solo slots on both Tuesday and Saturday evenings.

Further details of these and any other last minute updated gigs are as usual, posted on the Bookings page .

That is about all the news for now.

I hope to see you at a future gig.

Thanks for your support … as ever.

Simon
