September Songs

Welcome to my latest online newsletter.

This September saw a really exciting and busy end to a most successful summer season . This month’s photo was taken during our recent Jazz Revival Lounge gig at The Old Bakery Studios Truro. I was thrilled to be able to invite a number of my friends to join us for some numbers during the evening. In this shot, the quartet are joined by Andy Marshall, who performed a couple of tunes from his highly popular Sinatra repertoire. The evening was a huge success and enjoyed by a packed audience. There are now plans afoot to organise another such evening in a couple of months. In the meantime, I will be returning to The Bakery on Sunday 7th October with my trio for another afternoon jam session, where people of all abilities and ages are welcome to sit in and play with us or simply chill and listen to the music.

I was delighted with the reception I received after my solo performance in Truro Cathedral on the 18th of the month. It was a rare opportunity for me to play a concert grand piano in a beautiful recital setting and I would like to pass on my thanks to all those connected with the event, for making me feel so welcome.

Indeed, October promises to be a month of varied gigs and venues. The quartet along with Lucy O’Day, will be at The Burrell Theatre Truro School on 5th, whilst next month also sees another new venture , with a solo performance at Lemon Twist Tapas Bar Falmouth. I will be playing from 8-10 pm on Thursday 11th October. So if you are in the area, it would be great to see you.

Our Sunday lunch jazz sessions at The Headland Hotel will be running each week except the 28th October, whilst my residency at The Budock Vean continues as always with regular solo slots on both Tuesday and Saturday evening.

Further details of these and any further last minute updated gigs are as usual, posted on the Bookings page .

That is about all the news for now.

I hope to see you at a future gig.

Thanks for your support … as ever.
