Spring News

Welcome to my latest online newsletter.

This month’s photo features the poster for our upcoming gig at The Old Bakery Studios celebrating eighty years of The Blue Note record label. It promises to be a vibrant evening featuring performances from my old friends, Robin Pengilley, on trumpet and Mike Rowlands on Alto Sax along with my regular quartet of Sarah McDonagh on Tenor Sax, Sam Norman on Double Bass and Keith Marshall on Drums. Tickets are now available here and are likely to sell out so booking early is recommended.

May sees plenty of other exciting bookings:

On the 1st I will be appearing at the Bridge Jazz Club, in Exeter with saxophonist, Pete Canter,. This evening involves Pete’s quartet playing the first set with the second half being a jam session. On the following Sunday Lucy O’Day and I, along with Keith on Drums and Sam on Double Bass, will be performing a short set from 7.45- 8.30 pm at The Falmouth Street Food Festival . Incidentally, on 6th June our latest EP, ‘Honeymoon’ will be released. It will be available on all digital platforms and you can pre-order a copy here.

The 9th May will be another chance to hear my solo set at Charlie Franks, Plymouth for their Night On the Orient Express, evening. The 17th I will once again be performing with saxophonist, Pete Canter, this time at the Bridport Arts, Jazz Café in Dorset.

The regular Sunday lunchtime jazz dates at The Headland Hotel finish on 26th May when we will switch back to Wednesday evenings from 29th. This is due to run throughout the summer months until mid-September. As always, I remain resident at The Budock Vean Hotel with a number of appearances throughout the week. For the very latest gig information be sure to check out the Bookings page as this continues to be regularly updated with any last minute engagements.

That is about all the news for now.

I hope to see you at a future gig.

Thanks for your support … as ever.
