Welcome to my latest online newsletter.
Gosh what a busy time on the bookings front and whilst I am certainly not complaining, this year’s summer season has brought an upsurge in both solo and ensemble engagements. This month’s photo is a freeze frame from our upcoming video recorded recently at Cube Studios Truro. Lucy, Sam Keith and I had a most productive time recording two brand new tracks one of which will be accompanied by the new video when released.
The jazz fest at The Old Bakery Studios draws ever closer. On August 4th we will be marking one year of Jazz Jams at the Bakery with a workshop in the morning and jazz gigs from S’Wonderful jazz and Jollity Farm either side of the regular jam session. If you would like to be involved in the workshop, you can still obtain tickets here.
In the weekend following the Jazz Fest, Keith, Sam and I will be providing the house band for another Jazz Jam, this time as part of the Lostwithiel Jazz Cafe and will round of a weekend of quality gigs at this well respected event. As usual with these sessions, feel free to just turn up and listen or bring your instrument if you would like to join in with us.
The duo evenings at The Headland Hotel continue on Wednesday evenings and I am also playing a few additional solo dates there throughout July and August on some Friday and Saturday evenings . For details of these and other dates be sure to check out the Bookings page as this continues to be regularly updated with any last minute engagements. As always, I also remain resident at The Budock Vean Hotel making a number of appearances during the week. .
That is about all the news for now.
I hope to see you at a future gig.
Thanks for your support … as ever.
Simon
